Dreadnought Contract is a team based shooting game as well as a first person shooting game. The classic gameplay adopts a five to five explosion mode, and there are also other original modes for players to choose from.

There are various weapons in the game, which are used to kill enemies, install bombs, dismantle bombs, and obtain money called "Creds" for turn victories. The required firearms and armor are purchased through the economic system. There are seven types of weapons in the game, namely pistols, submachine guns, shotguns, heavy weapons, rifles, sniper guns, and melee weapons. Like other first person shooter games, each weapon has recoil and must be controlled by the player to achieve precise shooting.
